What is Juvederm?

Juvederm is an FDA-approved dermal filler that is injected just below the surface of the skin to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and create an overall more youthful appearance. It is composed to hyaluronic acid, which is naturally occurring in the body.

 

How long does Juvederm last?

Juvederm lasts approximately 6-12 months.

 

What part of the face can Juvederm be used?

Juvederm can be used alone or in conjunction with other injectables. It is usually used for the nasolabial folds, marionette lines, cheeks, the chin, and temples. It can also be used with Botox to soften wrinkles between the eyebrows, called the “angry 11’s.” 

 

Side Effects

There are very little side effects to hyaluronic acid fillers. You may experience some mild swelling and bruising immediately after the injection, which can last for a couple of days. These side effects can be minimized with the proper technique.
