What is Voluma?
Voluma is one of the only FDA-approved hyaluronic acid fillers that instantly adds volume to the cheek area. It is composed of shorter chains of hyaluronic acid with many “cross-links.” This means that the more crosslinks, the more effective the lifting power of a hyaluronic acid filler. This is why Voluma is considered superior compared to many other injectables for its lifting and volumizing capacity. Voluma also has some free chains of hyaluronic acid that do not have crosslinks, which provides softness and allows the product to be molded in place.
How long does Voluma last?
Voluma is considered one of the longer-lasting hyaluronic acid fillers out there. It is naturally broken down by the body and can last for up to 2 years.
Where can Voluma be injected?
Voluma is most commonly used and has been FDA-approved for injection to the mid-face and lift sunken cheeks. It is also usually used for contouring to areas such as the jawline and temples.
What are some possible side effects?
